Relax and refresh on a small, serene, pristine lake in Liberty Maine. Our lakeside cabin is a year-round home in the woods, with an open floor plan on the first floor and a master bedroom with floor to ceiling windows overlooking trees and water upstairs, and a second bedroom overlooking the front yard. Our recently remodeled gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with all the comforts of home, including a gas range, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and toaster oven, and it opens out to a dining area complete with a big farm table that seats 8. The living room has a large comfy sectional couch with a queen-sized pull out bed, tv/dvd with roku, stereo/cd, a wood stove, AC and propane heater. Two sets of sliding glass doors lead out to our deck, furnished with cushioned outdoor wicker, picnic table and a gas barbecue. The cabin also has wifi, good cell phone reception, a washer/dryer and a queen sized airbed.
Tranquil Cargill Pond has no public access and no motor boats. Our new large, beautiful dock has optimal exposure, with sunshine from mid-morning to sunset. We have a double kayak and 3 singles for your use, as well as floats, life jackets, lawn furniture and even a hanging hammock chair. The lake provides fabulous swimming, boating, fishing, dock-sitting, loon watching and extaordinary stargazing-- our dock is right under the Milky Way!
Our little town of Liberty is only 20 minutes from the charming coastal towns of Belfast, Camden and Rockport. There’s the best restaurant ever, (The Lost Kitchen) up the road in Freedom, and the new Amish community complete with big country store in Thorndike. What we appreciate most is the balance of restful peace and quiet in beautiful natural surroundings yet with great places to eat, shop and play only a short distance away. There’s a huge variety of great restaurants, great hiking and biking trails, state fairs, lobster festivals, music festivals, fabulous museums, galleries, antique stores and innumerable fairs depending on when you arrive. You may never want to leave, but don’t worry, maybe you can come back year after year like we do!
